Protect Your Car’s Exterior and Extend the Life of Your Vehicle

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on October 22, 2011

Halloween is often associated with sweet treats, but sometimes the tricks are not as fun, especially if they affect your personal property. Cars have been known to commonly be egged, marked with silly string, or covered with pumpkin innards. This can damage the car paint, lowering the resale value of your car.

Car experts know that these substances, as well as bird droppings and bug splatters can seriously damage your car’s exterior, especially when left in the sun. According to auto experts, following these tips can help save your cars coat:

-Be on the defense with a coat of wax as protection. This can also help against sand, road grime, and salt that is associated with driving in colder weather.

-Park your car in a garage or use a cover on Halloween.

-If you do get bombed on Halloween, rinse on the residue and then wash the car.

-It’s also recommended to keep a small bottle of car wash solution  mixed with water in your car for those small messes.

As a Los Angeles car accident lawyer, I hope that you and your car stay safe this upcoming holiday. For other tips on Halloween safety from the Los Angeles personal injury lawyer at our law firm, please visit this blog regularly.

Tips To Extend The Life of Your Vehicle

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on October 11, 2011

As temperatures drop, car maintenance needs may change, depending on the climate you’re in. Keep the following simple maintenance tips in mind this season to protect your automobile and yourself and your passengers.

-Check all your fluids, such as your power steering, engine oil, brake and transmission, windshield washer solvent and antifreeze.

-Make sure the hoses and belts are not cracked or showing signs of extreme wear.

-Make sure your battery is still good. Also check the connections for corrosions.

-The brake system should be inspected yearly, and get your brake linings, rotors and drums inspected when you get your oil changed.

-The exhaust system should also be inspected, especially if your car is making any odd noises.

-A tune-up should be scheduled in order to get the best fuel economy.

-The heating and air system should be evaluated, as a car without a properly working defroster can be dangerous.

-Regularly check the tires and the tire pressure. Make sure you get your tires rotated routinely.

-It’s important that your wipers work properly for vision purposes.

As a Los Angeles car accident attorney, I know that keeping your car well-maintained can ensure your safety, as well as the safety of others on the road. In my experience as a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I have seen that a routine maintenance program will help keep you safe and help extend the life of your car.
