PG&E

Pipeline Safety Measures Blocked By Senator

According to news sources, a sole senator has blocked federal legislation to regulate pipeline safety, an issue the pipeline industry itself supports.

The federal government has zoned in on pipeline safety after several incidents of explosions. PG&E had a significant explosion is San Bruno, California in 2010, and the accident raised issues over how records are kept and how repairs are determined.

Many organizations are in support of new safety measures for pipelines, including the American Gas Association, the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, and the Association of Oil Pipelines.

The bill to increase pipeline safety was supposed to go before the senator bench for voting, but was blocked by a Republican Senator.

As a Los Angeles personal injury attorney, I really hope that the federal government is able to reach conclusions about what needs to be done in order to ensure pipeline safety. As a Los Angeles wrongful death attorney, I know that acting quickly may save more lives and prevent more workers and citizens from being injured in a pipeline explosion. It is my hope that accidents and death in the workplace will continue to decrease as more bills like this are brought to the attention of the government.

PG&E Not Up to Federal Standards

Pacific Gas and Electric Co’s safety systems have called for concern from federal investigators due to poor record keeping, according to recent news reports.

And expert on pipeline safety said, “The system that is used in Pacific Gas and Electric CO.’s transmission system for gas and fuel is flawed in such a way that it doesn’t have the ability to detect any kind of faults if present.” The statement comes after a deadly explosion last year in San Bruno, California.

The National Transportation Safety Board has reported that PG&E has been unable to manage their transmission lines in the past and have not been able to develop a better system in recent months.

The investigation found that they have many faults in the handling of their operational system, leading to dangerous conditions for workers, citizens, and homes near their pipelines.

As a Los Angeles wrongful death attorney, the lack of organization that federal investigators are reporting is of great concern to me, especially after the pipeline explosion that occurred as a result of poor maintenance and records in 2010. As a personal injury lawyer, I hope that PG&E is able to come up with a better system for the safety of everyone affected by their pipelines.
