By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on November 8, 2011

According to the news, there was a recall issued for over 27,000 bikes manufactured by the Trek bicycle company. Reports show that the producers have noted issues related to the saddle clamps.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission warrants that all of the recalled bikes are from the 2012 model year. The makes include the 7.3 FX including WSD and Disc models, Livestrong FX including WSD models, Livestrong District, 7.4 FX including WSD models, 7.2 FX including WSD models, District and 9th District.

The company has stated that the problem could force the bolt to break, which would lead to the saddle coming off the seat unexpectedly. Such a malfunction could cause the rider to be allegedly ejected from the bicycle. It is not known to us if there were any reports of accidents related to the bicycle malfunctioning.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I urge all bikers to contact the manufacturer so affected saddle may be replaced completely free of charge.

Whenever a company is not responsible about the issues and threats its alleged products pose to their consumers, remember to always have the contact of a product liability lawyer at hand so you will have the best professional fighting for your rights by your side.

Precautionary Recall of Lean Cuisine, no Injuries Reported

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on November 2, 2011

According to reports from the FDA website, there was an allegedly voluntary recall of a limited quantity of the LEAN CUISINE® Dinnertime Selects™ Chicken Fettuccini with the code 13800-14880 on its label by its manufacturer, Nestlé early in October.

The recall took place because some of the products have been mixed up with the lemon garlic shrimp variety. Consumers have allegedly noticed that they would buy a product labeled as chicken fettuccini but instead would get shrimp, which could have led many allergic reactions to unobservant consumers who might suffer from allergies to shellfish. Although the mistake could have had disastrous consequences to possible upset consumers, there were no reports linking the issue with any injury or allergic reactions.

The report from the FDA states that Nestlé’s commitment to consumer’s safety is a priority to their company. As soon as the mistake was detected, authorities were reported so the company could work closely with them for better results.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I have seen many cases where a lack of caution has played a major role in the causing of a preventable incident. The precautionary action from the product’s manufacturer is appreciated specially for those who unfortunately have been in a situation where a product liability lawyer was needed.

Ready-to-eat Meals Sold to Hospitals and Airplanes Recalled

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on November 1, 2011

News from the National Food Safety and Inspection Service website state that a company from Burbank, California has allegedly issued a recall of 4,100 pounds of their ready-to-eat meals. The maker claims the products were prepared without the benefit of federal inspection.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that these food items may have been sold to various hospitals and airlines. Since the company can only operate under the FSIS inspection, whenever there aren’t any inspection personnel present, the manufacturing of meals cannot continue. Inspectors have noticed that there were meals produced when they weren’t present at the facility. According to the news there have been alleged reports of illness due to consumption of the items listed in their website.

The FSIS always perform rigid checks to make sure companies are notifying their consumers of their recalled products. A complete list of the products that have been recalled from this company can be found in our blog.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I believe it’s my duty to notify the readers of this blog whenever there’s a dangerous case of food recall. Remember that in the case of a health issue related to the intake of food that wasn’t proper for the consumption you’re entitled to ask the advice of a product liability lawyer.

State Law regarding Unprecedented Beef Recall to be tested

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on October 31, 2011

According to the news, since the prohibition of buying, selling or even holding non-ambulatory animals, known as “downer” animals, there has been a major recall of 143 million pounds of beef in the State of California. Now the Supreme Court is allegedly ready to test the meat law.

The regulation that has taken effect states that the meat, which is derivative from animals held under poor health conditions, should allegedly never be sold for consumption. Although this law is only valid in the State of California, others across the country followed its example and started destroying meat that reportedly came from the same “downer” conditions.

There hasn’t been any recent news related to beef recalls as persistent as the 2008 scandal. The unfortunate case demonstrated that some of the meat we were consuming wasn’t allegedly only coming from inspected sick animals but also that from animals that had become completely immobile without going under any inspection.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I understand that the intake of meat from sick animals can pose as a serious health threat to all of us. By keeping up with the food industry’s news revolving recalls of products in every area, you will be protected from future health issues related to food poisoning. If you or a loved one is the victim of food poisoning, contact a product liability lawyer to answer your doubts.

Baby Strollers Recalled, Company Offers Replacement Components

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on October 31, 2011

According to various news sources a recall from the manufacturer of baby strollers Bugaboo was issued regarding their Bugaboo Bee item. The company has explained in their website that there have been alleged complaints regarding the front wheels. Whenever they swivel they tend to stick, which may eventually lead to a tipping issue. This happened after the company switched from the metal made wheels to the plastic ones.

The website also claims that since the safety of this product represents a liability to baby-stroller users, they are stopping the manufacturing and shipping of the questionable stroller.

The company has stated that a replacement set is being shipped to all consumers registered with them. All of those who have purchased any of their recalled products originated between January 2011 and September 2011 should be registered in their website, if not, they must do so immediately.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer I understand that it’s important to keep the general public aware of the news regarding potential dangers of products we use on a daily basis. Product liability attorneys should be contacted right away if you or a loved one is the victim of damage or health issues related to consumer products.
