According to news sources, a recall has been issued for about 24 pounds Jerry’s Foods summer sausage due to undeclared whey and soy allergens in the product that are not identified properly on the label.
The company, Jerry’s Foods, announced the recall of the ready-to-eat sausage products after a company quality control manager reportedly discovered the problem while examining the product label. The recalled products come in 12-oz. packages and are Summer Sausage, and Summer Sausage with Jalapenos. The products have a Best By date “09/10/11″ and an establishment number “EST. 7777″, which can be found inside the USDA mark.
There have been no reports of illnesses to date.
