Aunt Jemima Products Recalled Due to Soy Exposure

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on January 31, 2012

Earlier today, I talked about the dangers inherent in a product being improperly mislabeled, but sometimes a product can be labelled totally correct and yet still pose a danger due to the things it has come in contact with in its manufacture process.

Kroger today has announced a recall of a variety of Aunt Jemima frozen pancake products.  The affected products have a Use By date between November 1 and October  16. 2012.  Aunt Jemima Buttermilk and Buttermilk Low Fat, Confetti, Homestyle, Oatmeal and Whole Grain pancakes from the Pinnacle Foods Group were the specific products involved in the recall.

The products in question may contain soy, which would be harmful to consumers that are allergic to soy products.  These items are believed to have come into contact with the same equipment that itself made contact with a product that has soy protein among its ingredients.

As a car accident attorney in Bakersfield, I pay a lot of attention to the various auto recalls out there, but food recalls can be just as important.  Even if foods aren’t contaminated by hazardous materials, as a Bakersfield personal injury lawyer, I know that what might not be hazardous to you or me could be quite dangerous to someone with severe allergies.

Turkey Breast Product Recalled Due to Mislabeling

By Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer on October 27, 2011

About 2,325 pounds of turkey breast products made by Kuck’s Turkey Farm are being recalled due to mislabeling, according to recent news sources.

The product was made in St. Marys, Ohio and contains wheat and soy, known allergens which, if consumed by those with sensitivities, can cause an allergic reaction. The wheat and soy are not declared on the label of the product.

The products subject to recall are cartons containing 7- and 8-lb. packages of “AMISH HERITAGE “ROTISSERIE SEASONINGS” TURKEY BREAST.”

These products have the number P-34592 inside the USDA inspection mark and are labeled with sell by dates from October 9, 2011 through November 28, 2011. The undeclared ingredients were discovered by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Services during a regular labeling review. No illnesses in relation to this recall have been reported as of yet.

As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I encourage anyone experiencing reactions to this product to seek medical attention. In my line of work as a product liability lawyer, I know how important proper labeling can be. Proper labeling ensures the safety of the consumer and makes it easier for consumers to make the right choices in regards to their health. I hope that no one is sickened by consuming this product.
