Over 22,000 Pounds of Meat Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergen

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced a recall for Carne Guisada due to an undeclared allergen, according to recent news sources.

About 22,100 pounds of meat are affected by this recall. The manufacturer is Supreme Meat Purveyors, based in San Antonio, Texas. The product was discovered by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service during a routine survey of the products. The allergen is soy.

Two and five pound bags are being recalled, with case codes of either 600100, 71087/506004, or 500233. The “beef base” listed under the ingredients was proven to contain soy. Those who have sensitivities to that product could get sick from consuming it.

No reports of illness have been made to the company of the Food Safety and Inspection Service. The products were sent to both Louisiana and Texas.

Emporium Packaging & Spice Company has issued a recall for one of its products because it may contained undeclared allergens, according to recent news sources.

The product subject to recall is all Ponchatrain Sauce Mix. The mix may contain milk and soy, which poses a threat to those who are sensitive to those products. Those with milk or soy allergies may experience a life-threatening reaction if they consume this product.

The sauce mix was released in Temple, Texas in Emporium Packaging & Spice Company’s retail store. The .17 mixture comes in a plastic bag and has a paper label that is white and red.

No illnesses have been reported in relation to this recall at this time. If you have this product in your possession, you can return it to your place of purchase for a full refund.
