A children’s toy manufacturer is recalling 1.7 million workshop and tool sets due to a part being a choking hazard, according to recent news sources.
Little Tikes, based in Hudson, Ohio, has announced the recall after two separate incidents of the oversized plastic toy nails becoming lodged in a child’s throat. The children involved were taken to hospitals and have made full recoveries, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Consumers are advised to discard the nails and contact the company for a free replacement set. The dangerous nails are red or blue in color and about 3.25 inches long and 1.25 inches in diameter.
Little Tikes conducted a recall of 1.6 million workshop sets and trucks with the same toy nails in 2009.
